You’re all set
Getting Started with SnipThat
SnipThat is installed and ready. Here’s how to take your first screenshot, extract text, and organise your research notes.
Open the sidebar
Click the SnipThat icon in your Chrome toolbar to open the side panel on any webpage you’re visiting.
Choose a capture mode
Pick Capture for a full-page screenshot, Extract to select a region and pull out OCR text, or toggle Auto Save ON to automatically capture everything you copy.
Save to a note
A popup appears in the upper-right corner of the page. Choose to Copy, Create a new note, or Insert into an existing note. Everything is saved with source URL and timestamp.
Organise & find your research
Create categories, use search, filter by date, and pin important notes. Export any note or category as TXT, Word, or PDF whenever you need it.
Screenshot capture
Captures the whole active page. A popup lets you copy, create a note, or insert into an existing note — with URL and timestamp.
OCR text extraction
Select any region — including inside images. Choose to save the screenshot, extracted text, or both together.
Clipboard auto-save
Turn on Auto Save and every piece of text you copy is silently captured into your notes.
Categories & search
Organise notes into custom categories. Find anything instantly with search and date filters.
Export & backup
Export a note, a category, or all data as TXT, Word, or PDF. Every export includes source URL and timestamp.
100% local storage
Everything lives in IndexedDB on your device. No server, no account, no tracking.
